Bahrain Foreign Minister Meets UN General Assembly, President
Bahrain and UN officials discuss international cooperation, regional developments, and disruptions to navigation in key waterways.
His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with His Excellency Dr. Khalil Al Rahman, President of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, at the UN headquarters in New York on Thursday.
His Excellency the Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings and best wishes of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, wishing the General Assembly President success in leading the current session.

The meeting reviewed Bahrain’s cooperation with the United Nations and its various bodies, particularly in support of development, regional security and international peace.
The two sides also discussed key issues on the General Assembly’s agenda, regional developments and challenges facing countries in the region. They exchanged views on the implications of disruptions to navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb, as well as regional conflicts and other issues of mutual interest.
Bahrain’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Jamal Fares Al Rowai’i, and the Foreign Minister’s accompanying delegation attended the meeting.
