Dallas: US Vice President JD Vance launched a fierce attack on the Democratic Party at the Republican midterm convention in Dallas, calling it the ‘party of hatred’ and accusing Democrats of ‘despising America and the people who built it.’ He urged people to maintain Republicans in charge of Congress during the November midterm elections.

Vance challenged Democrats on immigration, race, crime, and cultural issues, claiming that the party had become more extreme. He also defended Trump fans against racist accusations and slammed Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed for remarks about his family.

Vance also called for Republican unity, despite internal party disputes over the Trump administration's military moves against Iran. He recalled the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk, arguing that Republicans should not desert the party due to disputes over certain programs.

The address came as Republicans sought to excite their base ahead of the November elections, in which control of Congress is at risk. President Donald Trump also spoke at the convention, encouraging Republicans to show out in large numbers and defend the party's agenda.
