Brussels: NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte has stated that the alliance will remain ‘strong’ regardless of who wins France's 2027 presidential election, emphasising that political changes in member states will not undermine the military alliance.

France is a prominent NATO member and one of Europe's leading military forces. Rutte's comments come as France's political landscape becomes more fractured, with the far-right National Rally gaining traction ahead of next year's elections.

His words indicate confidence that NATO's cohesiveness and collective defence commitments will be maintained, regardless of the outcome of the French election.
