Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, along with ministers, officials and heads of delegations attending the 29th meeting of GCC Ministers Responsible for Municipal Affairs in Bahrain.

Bahrain is hosting the meeting as part of its presidency of the 46th session of the GCC Supreme Council, the Bahrain Summit.

Shaikh Khalid affirmed Bahrain’s continued and steadfast support for GCC joint action across various fields, particularly the municipal sector, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the direct impact of municipal services and projects on people’s daily quality of life. He noted that the municipal sector has become a key pillar in developing infrastructure capable of attracting investment and supporting economic growth, placing municipalities at the centre of efforts to achieve the GCC countries’ ambitious development and economic visions.

The participating ministers, officials and delegation heads conveyed the greetings of Their Majesties and Highnesses the GCC leaders to His Majesty the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
