Bahraini contestants secure second and third places in the 46th edition of the prestigious competition in Makkah

Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda has honoured two Bahraini contestants for their achievements at the 46th King Abdulaziz International Holy Quran Memorisation Competition, held in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

The minister honoured Amat Al Rahman Badee’ Mutahar Kulaib, who won second place in the women’s category, and Bader Saed Hamed, who secured third place in the men’s category.

Both contestants competed in the competition’s second category, which focuses on memorising the Holy Quran in full with proficiency and Tajweed, in addition to interpreting the meanings of its vocabulary.

Minister Al Maawda congratulated the winners, their families and the Holy Quran memorisation centres they represent, praising their outstanding achievement.

He also commended the efforts of the Ministry’s Holy Quran Affairs Directorate in preparing Bahraini participants for local and international Quranic competitions and strengthening their capabilities, contributing to Bahrain’s representation and achievements at such events.

The minister affirmed the ministry’s continued commitment to serving the Holy Quran, supporting memorisation and recitation programmes, and developing Bahraini talents to participate in Quranic competitions.
