A wedding celebration in Egypt’s Sohag Governorate ended in tragedy after 27-year-old Kirillos Wadie suddenly became ill and died shortly after his wedding festivities.

Wadie, from Al Kosheh village in Dar Al Salam, had celebrated his marriage with relatives and friends before the unexpected medical emergency occurred as the celebrations were coming to an end. Local reports said he collapsed and was rushed to hospital, but doctors were unable to save him.

Reports from local media described the incident as a sudden cardiac episode, although a detailed medical report confirming the exact cause of death has not been publicly released.

The sudden loss shocked the local community, particularly because Wadie had been celebrating the beginning of his married life only hours earlier. Messages of condolence and photographs from the wedding were widely shared by relatives and friends following the news.

Funeral prayers were held at Abu Seifein Church in Al Kosheh, with family members, friends and residents attending to pay their final respects.

The death has left the village mourning a young man whose wedding day unexpectedly became his final day.
