A fourth straight defeat left Bahrain's under-18 women's volleyball team still searching for their first win after Algeria beat them 3-0 at the Arab Championship in Jordan yesterday.

Algeria won 25-12, 25-10 and 25-9, taking charge early and giving Bahrain little room to fight their way back into the match.

It was another hard night for a young Bahrain side that had already lost its first three matches against Jordan, Egypt and Palestine.

Hosts Jordan beat Bahrain 25-7, 25-10 and 25-12 in the opener, before Egypt and Palestine also won in straight sets.

Bahrain are one of the newest teams in the field and the tournament is being used to give the players much-needed match time against Arab rivals.

The coaching staff is looking to build experience across the squad and give the players a clearer taste of the pace and demands of international volleyball as they work toward better results in coming events.

Bahrain are competing alongside Jordan, Egypt, Algeria, Palestine, Morocco and Lebanon in the championship in Amman.
