BEIJING: China has officially called for ‘restraint’ amid a series of attacks on Saudi Arabia carried out by Houthi rebels in Yemen, urging a halt to escalating regional violence.

Beijing expressed deep concern over the expanding conflict and heightened security hostilities taking place across both Yemen and the Red Sea corridor.

Chinese officials specifically highlighted grave alarm regarding the casualties of innocent civilians resulting directly from the repeated strikes in the area.

The government also voiced severe concern over the extensive damage inflicted upon vital energy facilities and other essential civilian infrastructure throughout the region.

To manage the ongoing crisis, China emphasized that all involved parties must respect national sovereignty and commit to resolving their disputes through direct political and diplomatic dialogue.
