The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities has signed an agreement formalising the Kingdom of Bahrain’s participation in Expo 2030 Riyadh.

The agreement was signed by Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, while the Saudi side was represented by Talal Al Marri, CEO of Expo 2030 Riyadh. The signing was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain Naif bin Bandar Al-Sudairi.

The signing marks an official step in Bahrain’s preparations to participate in the global event and builds on ongoing organisational and preparatory efforts to ensure a comprehensive Bahraini presence at Expo 2030 Riyadh.

Shaikh Khalifa said Bahrain’s participation reflects the depth of the historic and fraternal ties between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, as well as the growing cooperation between the two countries across various fields.

He described the agreement as an important milestone in Bahrain’s preparations for the Expo, highlighting the Kingdom’s commitment to maintaining an active presence at the international event and presenting a participation that showcases its national identity, achievements and future aspirations.

He added that national teams are continuing their organisational and preparatory work to ensure a comprehensive Bahraini presence that reflects the significance of the Expo and makes use of the global platform for cultural and knowledge exchange and partnership-building.

Expo 2030 Riyadh is scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia from October 1, 2030, to March 31, 2031, under the theme “Foresight for Tomorrow.” The event is expected to serve as a global platform bringing together people and cultures from around the world while promoting the exchange of ideas, expertise and international cooperation.

More than 200 official participants from around the world are expected to take part through national pavilions, cultural programmes, innovations and interactive experiences, contributing to the development of sustainable partnerships and presenting visions and experiences focused on the future.
