Pacific nations reaffirm support for Bahrain and condemn Iranian attacks

Bahrain’s Ambassador to the UAE, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, received ambassadors of several Pacific Island countries accredited to the UAE, including Tonga, Fiji, Tuvalu and Timor-Leste.

The meeting discussed Bahrain’s relations with the Pacific Island nations and ways to expand cooperation across various fields.

The ambassadors also discussed regional developments, including the repercussions of Iranian attacks against Bahrain, GCC states and Jordan, as well as the impact of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz on international navigation, the global economy and energy and food supplies.

The Pacific ambassadors presented a joint diplomatic note expressing their governments’ support for Bahrain and condemning the Iranian attacks as violations of international law and the UN Charter and threats to sovereignty and regional stability.

They also highlighted their countries’ co-sponsorship of UN Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026) and reaffirmed support for Bahrain’s initiatives at the UN.

Shaikh Khalid thanked the ambassadors for their solidarity and support and affirmed Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening relations and cooperation with Pacific Island nations.
